Yikes!

Stephanie Smith, 22, was paralyzed after being
stricken by E. coli in 2007. Officials traced the E. coli
to hamburger her family had eaten.

Not sure I will ever eat a hamburger again, or ground beef for that matter, after reading this article, "E. Coli Path Shows Flaws in Beef Inspection" in The New York Times on Sunday. A tragic story and the scary truth about an American staple.

My cousin had E coli poisoning when he was younger--about 20 years ago. He basically had to learn how to walk and do everything all over again. It was from an undercooked hamburger at a neighbor's house. His mental capabilities suffered also. Scary. I'm so careful when cooking hamburger.
