Swiss Chard & Sausage Pizza

.
Before...

After...

I'm a victim to my cravings. I have something to eat, love it, and have to have it again... asap. Since eating out with kids is no longer a sane or enjoyable option for us with the two littles, I have to get creative re-creating. This week I've been craving the Beta pizza from The Independent Pizzeria and tonight I made my own version. It was delicious.

Swiss Chard & Sausage Pizza
Inspired by the Beta

Whole Foods pizza dough
Muir Glen organic pizza sauce
Shredded mozzarella
Provolone slices, broken into pieces
Swiss chard, rinsed well and chopped
Hot Italian sausage (Skagit River Ranch if you can get it)
Garlic, sliced paper thin

Place pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 500. Sprinkle a work surface, rolling pin and pizza dough with flour and roll out dough to thin pizzas. Sprinkle the bottom side of a cookie sheet with cornmeal and a little flour (to prevent the dough from sticking) and transfer rolled-out dough onto it. Brush dough with olive oil. Top with pizza sauce, equal parts of each cheese, then the chard and sausage. Sprinkle garlic slices on the top. Carefully remove pizza stone from oven and reduce heat to 450. Sprinkle pizza stone with cornmeal and then slide pizza onto the stone CAREFULLY. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove and carefully transfer to a wood cutting board to slice. Bon appetite!
