What Kobe-style Wagyu beef is to steaks, Matsutake is to mushrooms. These beauties are amazing and priced to match, ranging from $20-30 per pound. They can be prepared many different ways, but you don't need much because of their great flavor. Just saute with a little butter and a sprinkle of garlic salt. Divine!
They have a short season and are hard to find locally. Check your local farmers market, Uwajimaya, and Pike Place Market.
