Ah, my pride and joy this holiday season.
We went to two Christmas tree lots to find the perfect tree and I couldn't have been happier with it, not to mention my sweet husband for being such a trooper.
This year I went with a silver and gold theme again. I use white ornaments, glass balls and lots of glittered ornaments as well, but nothing colorful. It turned out beautiful. Next year and beyond I will do a more colorful tree that's more interesting for the little ones to look at - full of Santas, animals, elves and the like.
The thing I love most about my tree is that my garland, silver and gold balls, glittery balls, glittery branches with leaves, and pine cones are all from K-mart. Yes! K-mart! You would never know looking at my tree that 80% of it is Martha Stewart K-mart brand. I love a really full tree packed with ornaments but it adds up so every year I hit K-mart and stock up on Martha's goods. She has everything you could imagine for your tree.
The other trick to a great tree is lights. Lights, lights, and more lights. Every year I think I could not possibly need more but every year I make a last minute trip for a few more strands. I'm a light addict, but look at that sucker glow! Until next year ...

How many strands of lights do you put up? Your tree is beautiful! I think I need to upgrade my amount of lights...
I would guess somewhere between 10 and 12. Insanity.
