After reading the book The Gifts of Imperfection, I'm trying to practice self-compassion on a daily basis. As the author explains, just a little bit every day goes a long way. I can speak from experience as of late, this is very true. I am practicing it every day and feeling lighter and more joyful. Along those lines, here's an article on the subject from The New York Times Health section, "Go Easy on Yourself, a New Wave of Research Urges" .

Here's a quiz to see how compassionate you are with yourself. I did not score very well the first time around. I hope to do better in 3, 6, 12 months. Practice, practice, practice! And what better thing to practice on than self-compassion?!!!!
